Complete Tree RemovalTraditional tree removal involves the use of ropes and rigging equipment to remove the tree. Bodey Family Tree Service LLC takes extra care to leave every work site more presentable than we found it. We clean up our messes!
The equipment we use is made for tree work. On larger jobs, we use a crane with the assistance of a log loader and bucket truck. We also climb trees according to ANSI national standards. |
Canopy Raising & ThinningMost of the time, reducing the crown of a tree is harmful but sometimes there is no other option. In these situations, we're able to prune the tree to reduce stress. This is NOT tree topping! Topping has been proven to be a devastating pruning technique for both the tree and homeowner.

Stump GrindingPreventing re-growth is the primary purpose of stump grinding, so proper technique is vital. If not properly done, surface roots can be missed and proper root separation may not be achieved. Hire an expert who will ensure your stumps are taken care of properly.
|
Soil Testing & FertilizingHealthy plant maintenance through proper soil testing, fertilization, soil improvement, pruning, watering and other nutrient needs.
|
Planting & Growth StimulationWe will make an on-site visit and develop a personalized plan that's best for your needs as well as your trees and shrubs
|
Cable & BracingWhen a tree needs support, and corrective pruning is not an option, bracing and cabling is used. We can help prevent future tree failures and protect the owner from a catastrophic failure.
|
Dead WoodingDead wooding is the removal of dead limbs from a tree. We recommend removal of any dead limb that is 2-3" and larger at the base as well as broken or hanging limbs in the tree.

Pruning
We suggest 10 feet of vertical clearance from your roof. Also, no branch should be touching the side of your home or business. It's also recommended to have 10 to 12 feet of clearance from the ground to allow for easy travel under the tree.
Side Note to Customers: Never let anyone use spurs to climb your trees for pruning. If someone is not up-to-date with their climbing skills and using spurs to prune your trees, you are paying someone to kill your trees. There are better ways to climb for pruning practices that are non-invasive to the trees. Climbing with spurs introduces bugs, fungus and disease every time the spur sticks to the tree.
The pruning cuts of a Certified Arborist who performs correct pruning practices will ensure the least amount of damage and the fastest healing time to the tree. An arborist should never cut more than 25% off a tree. Most trees should only be pruned at certain times of year, which an arborist would know. There are many other standards to pruning trees.
